Grand Cascades: Ricky and Nina’s Wedding Day Story

The largest and most elegant ballroom in the Sussex County New Jersey offers panoramic mountain views and hosts stunning weddings. Recently, we had the grand honor of hosting one of these stunning weddings for bride and groom Nina and Ricky. With lots of planning and custom details, we were able to make this duo’s wedding at the Grand Cascades at Crystal Springs Resort the quintessential day.

To kick off the reception, all guests surrounded the dance floor as the bridal party was introduced. Each group came out to their own anthem. The grandparents of the bride and groom got All Shook Up to Elvis, the mother of the bride shimmied to All About That Bass, the precious flower girl and her parents made their grand entrance to Good News, and the cousins came into the NFL theme song. Next up was Cotton Eye Joe and One More Time for the bridesmaids and groomsman, as well as Party Rock Anthem for the best men and maid of honor. The wedding party took their place with the rest of the guests around the dance floor and everyone directed their attention to the large TV screens to watch the custom montage. The video started with a clip from Law and Order then went into a beautiful montage of the couple backed by Owl City’s Fireflies. We then went into the grand entrance of the bride and groom. You would have thought we were at a rock concert and everyone’s favorite singer just came on stage, the guests of this wedding literally roared for Nina and Ricky.

This stunning two-some shared their first dance together to the Piano Guys’ version of A Thousand Years. Next, Nina and her siblings were called to the dancefloor as we played a custom music video of the song Wipeout which was mixed with classic footage of them dancing to the song as kids. After this throwback moment, Ricky and his mother took to the dancefloor to share in their dance to Paul Simon’s Love Me Like a Rock. Midway through the dance, we asked all mothers and their sons to join the groom and his mother.

After a dinner mix of Jay-Z, Ray LaMontagne, and Gaelic Storm, we had the dance floor packed! The requested last song of the evening was none other than Ms. Donna Summer’s Last Dance.

Here’s what the bride and groom had to say about their big day with us:
“As a bride with extremely high standards of music choice at weddings, I was very nervous to pick a DJ. However, Ben and the entire Create Excitement staff far exceeded what my husband and I could have ever asked for. They were so easy and enjoyable to work with. Ben is accommodating, patient, flexible and listens to what you want as a customer. He made our vision a reality! The Create Excitement website is extremely easily to use and provides helpful links. Ben also DJ’ed my brother’s wedding and I remember liking how he kept the event very classy. He created a personalized music mix of songs personal to our family. For my wedding, he helped my husband and I make an amazing entrance video with different movie and music clips. As a picky bride, I appreciated picking out almost every song. The songs Ben used matched our energy level. Not only was the music amazing, but he provided the photo-booth, uplighting and personalized TV screens which helped complete the reception atmosphere. Ben responds to you in a quick, timely manner and remembers you and your event long after your wedding. Thank you Ben and Create Excitement for such an amazing day!!”
