PHILADELPHIA MAGIC GARDENS – LINDSEY & MIKE

We recently had the pleasure of entertaining at Lindsey and Mike’s wedding at the Philadelphia Magic Gardens. We were so lucky to entertain for such a lovely couple and their guests, not to mention having the honor to entertain at one of the most interesting venues we’ve visited.
The Philadelphia Magic Gardens spans half a city block and invites visitors to stroll through its eclectic mosaic passages, sculpture gardens, and indoor galleries. Isaiah Zagar created this unique cityscape and art movement in the 1960s.
The only thing cooler than this amazing wedding venue, was the lovely couple we had the pleasure to entertain for.
We kicked-off the ceremonial processional with a custom song edit of Birds by Ben Folds. We timed it so that Lindsey entered during the subtle pause in the middle of the song.
After the beautiful exchange of vows, the recessional was set to the tune of Perpetuum Mobile by Penguin Cafe Orchestra. The gentle melody of this song always invokes a sweet emotion.
As the celebration continued into the cocktail hour, guests were surrounded by unique art mosaics and the sounds of Such Great Heights by The Postal Service, Pink Moon by Nick Drake, Freddie Freeloader by Miles Davis and Feel It All Around by Washed Out.
Then the party got started with the first dance set to A New Life by Jim James. Lindsey and Mike danced, then immediately invited their guests to the dance floor as soon as the beat picked up. It was so nice to see their guests rejoice with them as they celebrate their new life.

Next, Lindsey and her father danced to In My Life by The Beatles, and Mike and his mother danced to Three Little Birds by Bob Marley.
The soundscape for dinner consisted of Build Me Up Buttercup by The Foundations, Burning Down the House by Tom Jones + the Cardigans, and Feels So Good by Kylie Minouge.
We kept the excitement going throughout the celebration with requests made by guests. The party culminated up to the very last song, Philadelphia Freedom by Elton John. Everyone was singing including the passerbys on South Philly Street.
