This week’s post is a flashback to the very memorable wedding of Katherine & Christopher. It was a beautiful summer celebration on a bright Sunday afternoon. The event took place at The Mill Lakeside Manor in Spring Lake Heights, NJ, prior to its recent enhancements. And even though it was early on a Sunday, our DJs at Create Excitement selected a set of fun and airy tunes to make sure the guests were up and dancing.
We started the reception by introducing the bride and groom’s parents, as well as the wedding party, to “ABC” by Jackson Five. Who doesn’t get excited at the sound of this Motown classic? It’s obvious that this couple’s love transcends time, so “Eight Days a Week” by the Beatles was the perfect choice to introduce Katherine and Christopher as Mr. and Mrs.
The first dance had us gushing with emotion as the couple gently swayed on the dance floor to the enchanting sound of Louis Armstrong singing La Vie En Rose.
After a blessing and a short prayer, Maria, the maid of honor, and TJ, the best man, held their glasses in the air for a special toast.
The Celebration Begins
The reception then continued with traditional Greek dancing with music selections provided by the couple. At Create Excitement, we are lucky to celebrate special events with people of all cultures. Seeing traditional customs makes our jobs as DJs so much more exciting. . . Opa!
The Bride and Father dance was sweet and sentimental, and to the tune of “Daddy’s Little Girl” by Michael Bublé. It was followed by an equally sweet dance by Christopher and his mother.
The meal was then served, and we let Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé keep the smooth Sunday vibes going, among other artists.
After everyone ate, the celebration picked back up, starting with a Russian dance, followed by everyone becoming better acquainted with the dance floor.
Katherine and Christopher then had their cake and ate it too, accompanied by The Beatles’ “When I’m Sixty-Four.” Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” played as the Katherine tossed her bouquet. And then the couple enjoyed their last dance (or shall we say the first of many) to Michael Bublé’s “Save the Last Dance For Me.”
Here’s a selection of other songs that were requested and played throughout the reception.
- All of Me by John Legend
- At Last by Etta James
- Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. & Pharrell
- Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley
- Footloose by Kenny Loggins
- Let’s Twist Again by Chubby Checker

We had such a great time at The Mill at Lakeside Manor for this beautiful wedding! We are honored that Katherine and Christopher chose us as their DJ entertainment service.
Check out what they had to say:
“Chris and I want to thank you so much for the great job you did DJing our wedding! It was exactly what we wanted and we had so many guests comment to us about how the music wasn’t overwhelmingly loud where you couldn’t hear the person next to you, but also entertaining enough to make for a great party. We appreciate everything you’ve done for us that made our wedding day perfect! Sincerely, Katherine & Christopher”
