Top 10 Karaoke Songs in New Jersey

America is fascinated by karaoke. We bring thousands of the most popular karaoke songs to every event. We get a lot of requests at karaoke, so we put together a list of the top 10 karaoke songs in New Jersey. We love to sing in the shower, car, at home, and at a good party – so make sure to call Create Excitement to DJ your karaoke party!

At Create Excitement, our karaoke packages are among the most popular package options that we offer at our events.

Personally, I love being a part of a good karaoke event with Create Excitement. When a good crowd is having some karaoke fun, the feeling of good time is contagious. Even the shy people come out of their shell if their favorite song starts playing, and they’re handed a microphone. Plus if you add some good some good friends (and maybe an adult beverage or two) and the mood is electrifying!

To compile this list, looked through some of the data in Create Excitement’s extensive karaoke log to see what was often requested, and I polled some friends and fans on Facebook and Twitter. Plus, I threw in a few of my choices.

So this list is very unscientific, but if you’re having a party, or headed to a karaoke bar, it could help to spawn some ideas. Please, however, comment on our Facebook note and let us know what your favorite songs are!

1.) Wake Up Little Suzie- The Everly Brothers

Our Facebook fan, Terrie Gitsy Basko, recommended this tune. She says, she’ll,”never forget singing it with my other good friend Ben Carlin many years ago at our home in Manalapan.. even our kids remember & talk about it sometimes!!”. Terrie hit the nail on the head! Karaoke is about having a good time, right?

2.) Before He Cheats- Carrie Underwood

feb-bloglll-02

The US Karaoke Alliance ranks this song as the number 2 karaoke song of all time, and I can see why. It’s a pretty good breakup song, right? Great for a “Girls Night Out.”

3.) Summer Nights- John Travolta and Olivia Newton John

Summer Nights is like an old faithful karaoke song. It makes for a great duet or group sing-along. Plus, no lyrics are needed because almost everyone knows the words already!

4.) Don’t Stop Believing- Journey

Don’t Stop Believing is always a crowd pleaser. It is among the most requested songs at any of the parties/events that we attend, and everyone sings along regardless of if they’re karaoking or not.

5.) Born to Be Wild- Steppenwolf

Askmen.com ranked this as the number one song for guys because they say, “It’s repetitive, it doesn’t require a lot of work, and most men associate it with Easy Rider. “Born to Be Wild” is without a doubt the song you’re most likely to see performed by a 45-year-old man wearing aviator shades and a leather vest.”

6.) Picture- Cheryl Crow/Kid Rock

The US Karaoke Alliance ranks this as the number one karaoke song of all time. Interesting choice, right? It wouldn’t be my first sing-along, but I guess it is good for a duet

7.) Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

feb-bloglll-07

Our dear Facebook fan, Joan Marie Killebrew, recommended this one. Why not, right? It’s a ‘girl anthem’, and a perfect one at that.

8.) Build Me Up Buttercup- Foundations

Almost everybody knows the words to this classic song, and it is a timeless hit. I’ve seen twenty-somethings and seventy-somethings sing this tune.

9.) Sweet Caroline- Neil Diamond

Every time I hear this song, I think of several thousand Red Sox fans singing along at Fenway Park on a hot summer Day. Yankee fans, don’t beat me up for saying that!

10.) Wannabe- Spice Girls

Several of my friends suggested this song throughout the week. They say it’s popular in the young karaoke bar scene.
