WATER WORKS BY CESCAPHE IN PHILADELPHIA – CAROLINE & JOE
We love getting “dapper-ed” up for all the weddings we are so fortunate to attend. Caroline and Joe’s wedding was no different, and it was exciting to entertain at one of Philadelphia’s most treasured wedding venues, Water Works by Cescaphe Event Group.
This elegant venue is known for its iconic neoclassical architecture, and modern & upscale interior. The Water Works by Cescaphe has even welcomed historic visitors from all over the world, including Charles Dickens. It has also been designated a national treasure by the federal government, making it a National Historic Landmark. Here’s another fun fact, it’s near the famous Rocky staircase.
How the couple met
Joe and Caroline are match made for each other! They met on Craigslist (sort of) through a job posting, and were esteemed colleagues for nearly a year and half. They developed a friendship that led to a special day when “they both looked at each other a little differently and everything fell into place.”
We fast forward to their beautiful wedding, which we were honored to offer our professional DJ services at their wedding reception with 100 guests.
The cocktail hour and reception at Water Works by Cescaphe
The cocktail hour started at 6:30 p.m. and took place in a tented veranda overlooking the river. This was truly a magical hour. So sophisticated. So lovely. A petal cannon then fired, introducing the bride and groom – talk about a grand entrance. The wedding party entered to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, followed by Caroline and Joe’s beautiful introduction set to the tune of “Fire Escape” by Andrew McMahon.

It was very clear during the first dance that Caroline and Joe were made for each other. They gently swayed to the sweet nostalgic sound of “Stubborn Love” by The Lumineers. And while Caroline and Joe were warming the hearts of their guests, we were preparing to get their guests on the dance floor. Excitement immediately followed the first dance as EVERYONE danced for a short 20-minute set.
Once the guests returned to their seats, a blessing was made and the first course was served. The Maids of Honor and the Best Man gave heartfelt toasts. This was followed by the Father and Daughter dance, and the Mother and Son dance, set to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts and “Let Me Entertain You” by Ann Margaret, respectively. Excitement once again ensued, as we got EVERYONE on the dance floor again, and then dinner was served with a mix of modern and fun music playing in the background.
Then there was more dancing
After the bouquet toss and the cake-cutting, there was more dancing. And if we previously thought that EVERYONE was on the dance floor, we were wrong because the dance floor was NOW really crowded! This is the part we love the most. To see our happy couples be surrounded by so much love and excitement. Guests were even locking arms and doing the Mummers Strut!
The evening finally wound down and we wrapped things up with Sweet Caroline, by Neil Diamond. Who doesn’t like to end the evening with Sweet Caroline, knowing that it was, “so good, so good, so good!”
Caroline and Joe once again thank you for choosing Create Excitement as your professional DJ for your wedding. We can’t wait to entertain at Water Works by Cescaphe Event Group in Philadelphia again.
